A few examples of the follow-up impacts of exposure and
dialogue programmes (EDPs) that participants have so far
translated into actions show the breadth of the possible
fields of action.
Examples of follow-up activities in the field of:
The many and varied experiences and learning
stimuli from the EDPs are not always immediately translated
into action, often this happens as part of a structured
follow-up process. The Exposure and Dialogue Programme
Association is involved in exchanges with various academic
institutions, where it is working on developing instruments
to illustrate participatory learning experiences and the
impacts of EDPs.
Various evaluations of the work of the Exposure and Dialogue
Programme Association and the impacts of EDPs have been
carried out. In 2004, Prof. Karl Gabriel of the University
of Münster and Prof. Heribert Weiland of the Arnold
Bergstraesser Institute in Freiburg evaluated the work
of the EDP. Their report is based on earlier evaluations
by Prof. H. Brand from the German Institute for Development
Policy (in 1996) and by Dr. Wolfgang Schneider-Barthold
from the ifo Institute for Economic Research (in 1998).
“It is certainly true to say that, at present,
there is no comparable range of methodological instruments
available with which to express the subjectivity and multi-dimensionality
of the church’s development concept.”
