WHAT WE WANT

The Exposure and Dialogue Programme Association is an active advocate for more justice in the world and decent living conditions for people in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe.

We want,
  • to examine our own political and economic decisions to ensure that they are not taken at the expense of the poor and marginalised,
  • to help shape socially acceptable globalisation and to promote the dialogue between cultures and religions,
  • to increase support in society for poverty alleviation and enhance the understanding for holistic development,
  • to enable all to share in and benefit from development,
  • to shape a world that is viable for the future.

The individual exposure and dialogue programmes not only offer in-depth insights into the real lives of the poor, they also provide sound information about strategies, possibilities and measures for improving the situation of the poor. They enable the participants, first and foremost, to discover the self-help potential of the poor.

We want to bring together key people from bilateral and international development co-operation organisations, members of societal organisations and the churches, politicians and development practitioners, in order to give them the opportunity to experience poverty first-hand and to impart innovative know-how.

For example, the following goals can be achieved with the help of exposure and dialogue programmes:

  • Support for the development of participatory institutions and pro-poor services.
  • Contributions to the development and testing of new strategies, instruments or methods of participatory poverty alleviation.
  • Networking of local or international organisations, politicians and academics who are working in the same field.
  • Fostering and extending the learning community of the universal church.
